DOG WALK CANCELLED DUE TO WET GROUNDS 
  • The decision to cancel the 2018 Waratah Dog Walk was in the interests of dogs and their humans – It would be very dangerous for both, and especially dogs, to be slipping and sliding on sodden grass and mud. Training displays and games therefore couldn’t happen either.

    As Christmas is getting closer and the walk organisers are not available in the new year period, there will not be a ‘postponed’ walk. The 2019 Waratah Dog Walk will be advertised widely and we look forward to really enjoying the day with you once again.
Walk with us with a Dog,
with a Toy Dog
or simply Walk Dog-less :-) 
(and wear something red or
with red in it :-)
ATTENTION: Follow Lyndy WALK COORDINATOR onto the internal road (near Gallery) NOT past the Vintage Machinery to start walk. LONG WALK turns LEFT and crosses the Highway at the Traffic Lights. SHORT WALK turns RIGHT at Highway - turns into Meryla and returns back down unmade road past the Swimming Pool and Bowling Club sites to enter back in via the Railway gates in Yarranga Street.
AND remember: the LONG WALK includes following the SHORT walk on returning i.e. goes down to Meryla and returns the unmade road.

Calling all walkers - We need some supporters to lead the way, and follow up the end of our Railway Dog Walk. Two distances 800 metres and 2.2 kms - you do not have to have a dog to assist. Please step into spring with us
1.  $5 minimum per entry or dog family - all donations welcome of course :-)
2. All dogs entered must be healthy, friendly/ non-aggressive and on a leash at all times.
3. Prior Registration for the event required to help the smooth running of this event,

3. One Walk with choice of length - short or long - depending on the walker and/or companion dog fitness level

We welcome everybody who can assist with tasks leading up to the walk and /or assist with some small tasks on the day.
Robertson Heritage Railway Station (RHRS) Inc and Friends Of Wingecarribee Animal Shelter (FOWAS) Inc are holding this FUN walk as a fund raiser to continue to maintain our heritage station and grounds. ​ Procededs to RHRS and FOWAS.
​​​Short walk = 0.8 km
  • from Station, walk to Highway, turn right at the Robertson Motel
  • walk east to Meryla Street, turn left into Meryla Street,
  • walk south to the corner of Railway Common
  • turn right to walk west to Yarranga St to Robertson Bowling Club's along the  unmade road behind the pine .trees
  • return via Yarranga St gate - along the road to enter the common opposite the Fettlers Shed
Long walk = 2.2 km
  • from Station, walk to Highway, turn left at the Robertson Motel
  • continue along Hoodle  St (Illawarra Highway) to traffic lights at the school
  • cross at lights; continue west to Caalong Street
  • turn right into Caalong Street, walking past the Community Centre
  • over bridge and right turn into Hamden Park immediately past the bridge
  • walk east through park over the bridge, past the amenities block,  past the north-east oval into Meryla Street
  • turn right into Meryla  Street,  walking south to Hoodle Street (Illawarra Highway) corner
  • turn right again, walking  west along Hoodle Street to traffic lights;
  • cross at lights and
  • walk east to Meryla Street, turn left into Meryla Street,
  • walk south to the corner of Railway Common
  • turn right to walk west to Yarranga St to Robertson Bowling Club's along the  unmade road behind the pine .trees
  • return via Yarranga St gate - along the road to enter the common opposite the Fettlers Shed
