Model Train Displays - RHRS Inc Modellers Group
The Train Modellers Group currently meet in the Fettlers Shed Gallery on most Thursday and Sunday afternoons from 1pm to 4.30pm.
Sometimes there is a competing event and we aren’t open at those times but for the most part we are. New members would be most welcome but you must be over eighteen years old. Visitors of all ages are most welcome.
As there is usually an art exhibition in the Gallery during October, the models may be in hibernation for a couple weeks

Currently we have three operating layouts featuring: HO based on a NSW theme, N Scale based on an English country scene and an N Scale American scene. This latter layout is only small. In addition we are currently building a HO scale layout based on an American Logging Camp scene which will feature early 1900 include Shay locomotives. It doesn’t matter if you know what the scales mean but for those who do then this may be useful information.
Please feel free to pop in a have a look around. A gold coin donation would help but certainly not compulsory.
We currently have about 7 members and we build the layouts ourselves. It gives us the opportunity to practice any practical skills we might have eg building the timber structure of layouts but also some electrical work or we can learn some new skills (you never stop learning!).
Additionally we have the opportunity to learn some artistic skills when designing and creating our layouts. In addition, plans are underway to build a larger layout featuring N Scale American Railways which will probably include a town set in a rural setting.
If you would like to learn some of these skills, or already have them, please feel free to come along and have a chat. You may even decide to become a member. If nothing else you can have a coffee/ tea and a biscuit on us (sometimes cake depending on how clever our members are) :-)
