Dear members and supporters,
This time of year is usually full of festivities, with work and school winding down before the holiday break.
Due to the ongoing bushfire emergency across New South Wales, Christmas 2019 is not looking so merry for many people.
On behalf of THNSW, I offer my thoughts and prayers to all volunteers, staff and members, and their families, who have been personally impacted by the devastating fires.
At the time of writing this message, we have an active fire near the NSW Rail Museum. At the moment, the site and our people are safe.
We have prepared the site and relocated some items of rolling stock to Sydney, as the weather conditions are set to deteriorate over the weekend.
I would also like to thank all of our people for their support and assistance in managing this emergency.
I urge everyone to follow the advice of the relevant authorities. Please do not travel to bushfire affected areas. The NSW Rail Museum remains closed until further notice.
